New Mexico Highlands University is pleased to announce that Tiffany Darling is their new Women's Basketball Coach. Darling accepted the position earlier this week and is set to begin her first day of work at Highlands on June 2.

Darling, 29, comes to NMHU from Peninsula College, a junior college in Port Angeles, Wash. In two seasons at Peninsula, Darling compiled a 24-26 record, including a 15-17 record in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges.

"She's energetic and has a great knowledge of basketball," Manzanares said. "Her interview blew me away. She has junior college ties, which is important at (Division II) level, and she did have a player from Rio Rancho (N.M.), so she has some knowledge of New Mexico, and make no mistake about it, there is some good women's basketball played in the Washington and Oregon area."

Darling played point guard for four years at Central Washington University before becoming the top assistant at NCAA Division II St. Martin's University in Lacey, Wash.

"She has a plan to turn the program around and turn it around quickly," Manzanares said. “Coach Darling is a great addition to the Highlands Coaching family and should do big things for the Cowgirls.”
