The NMHU Cowboys continued to struggle as they fell to the Chadron State Eagles on 10/3 by a final score of 51-7. The Cowboys are still searching for their first win of the season and will have the opportunity to do it on their home turf as they take on the University of Nebraska-Kearney Lopers on 10/10 in Las Vegas, N.M. at 1:00pm.

The Cowboys struggled offensively as they only managed to produce 137 total offensive yards (86 rushing and 51 passing). The Cowboys had trouble with the Chadron rush as the HU quarterbacks were sacked three times during the game for a loss of 22 yards. Wallace LeBrane (5’11”; 245; JR; San Francisco, Calif.) led the Cowboy rushers with 64 yards on 10 carries for a 6.4 yards per carry average one the day.

Defensively, the Cowboys allowed the balanced Chadron offense to gain 484 yards of total offense (247 rushing and 237 passing). Julian Dupree (6’0”; 180; R-Fr.; Las Vegas, Nev.) finished the day leading all tacklers with 12 tackles on the day.

The Cowboys will continue searching for their first win of the season as they will take on the Lopers of the University of Nebraska-Kearney on 10/10 at Perkins Stadium in Las Vegas, N.M.
