The Cowgirls soccer team ended their season on a very sweet note. The Cowgirls played host to the University of Nebraska Kearney Lopers on 11/1 at Perkins Stadium. The Cowgirls destroyed the Lopers 8-0 in their last game of the 2009 season. A number of Cowgirls scored their first goals of the season in the match up against the Lopers. The Cowgirls outshot the Lopers 34-2 en route to their third shutout victory to end their season.

Lauren Waite earned the win for the Cowgirls as she started the first half but was then relieved by Shannon Delarosbil at the half. Both goalies had no goals allowed and had no saves as the Cowgirls had control of the ball for the majority of the game.

The Cowgirls did not wait as they scored within the first 35 seconds of the game. The first goal came from Krista Mashak, her second of the season, off an assist from Yolanda Elias and Stephanie Devisser. About 13 minutes later Devisser did the same as Mashak, scored her first goal of the season unassisted.

Almost three minutes later it was Amanda Piho-Jungblut's turn, as she scored her first goal of the season off a Kimberly Hutchings assist. Piho then turned around and gave the assist to Ashley Rosales to allow her to score her first goal of the season and go into halftime leading 4-0.

After the half, Piho again gave an assist, this time to Mari Jorstad to score her first goal of the season. Devisser then connected with Jorstad to score her second goal of the game and the season. Erika Miller continued the scoring as she scored her first goal of the season unassisted.

As the time was running out on the clock Storie Brockbank helped Ashley Kramer as she kicked the ball in on a corner kick and Kramer made the connection as she headed on in for her second goal of the season in the last 60 seconds of play.

The Cowgirls have completed their 2009 season and first season under Head Coach Justin Wagar with an RMAC record of 4-11.
