Cowboy Baseball standout
Jason Carr has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association 2010 NCAA DII Preseason All-America Second team. Carr was a menace in the batter’s box the entire season for the Cowboys as he was tied for second in the RMAC with 15 homeruns. Carr was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All Central Region team in the 2009 season. Carr was also a named to the All-RMAC First team in the 2009 season.
Carr led the Cowboys in many hitting categories throughout the 2009 season. Carr finished the season with a .397 batting average, 79 hits, 21 doubles, 15 home runs, 70 RBI’s and a .729 slugging percentage. Carr’s 15 home runs was good enough to put him second overall in the RMAC in 2009.
“Jason (Carr) has been a great player for us. He put up some great numbers last season and should improve upon those this season. We are looking for him to be a big presence in the middle of our lineup this season. If he can improve upon his numbers from last season he will be receiving several post-season honors. He is a great player who exemplifies what Cowboys Baseball is all about,” said
Head Coach Steve Jones of Carr’s achievement.
