Wright Named RMAC Wrestler of the Week
NMHU 125 pounder Seth Wright
NMHU 125 pounder Seth Wright has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week. Wright earned this honor with his outstanding performance in this past week of competition. Wright increased his overall record to 5-1 (2-0 RMAC) with some great RMAC wins.
Wright started out his week with a solid win over Mesa State College’s Tyler Nelson on 1/7. Wright quickly defeated Nelson as he pinned the Maverick’s 125 pounder 2:12 into the match. Wrights claim to fame wouldn’t come until the next night when Wright handily defeated Adams State College’s defending national champion Arsenia Barksdale by a 9-4 decision. Wright handed Barksdale his first home loss in his career at ASC. Barksdale was ranked #1 in the nation by the latest national poll before his match with Wright.
Wright is a very accomplished wrestler as he was a High School All-American while at Payson HS in Elberta, Utah. Wright was also a two time All-American selection while at Northwest Wyoming College. Wright comes to NMHU from NCAA DI institution Northern Iowa University.
