Chop and Roman vs. UNM 2009

The NMHU Cowboy Basketball team hosted the Western State College Mountaineers in the John A. Wilson Complex on 1/23. The Cowboys jumped out in the lead and went into the half with a 21 point lead and didn’t stop there. The Cowboys beat the Mountaineers 100-72 en route to their RMAC game victory. The Cowboys had four athletes in the double figures and were 71% from the free throw line.

The Cowboys were led by Roman Andrade who had a season high 35 points on the night. He also grabbed five rebounds and two steals for the Cowboys. Andrade was solid from the charity line as he went 8-8, and shot 50% from three point land.

Chris Dunn also went for a season high in scoring with 21 points. Dunn had seven rebounds on the night while shooting 3-3 from the charity line.

Leading the Cowboys defense was Rashad Peterson with eight rebounds. He also had two steals towards the winning efforts.

Other Cowboys in the double digits for scoring were Mindaugas Markevicius and Chop Tang with 16 and 12 points, respectively.

The Cowboys are now 4-5 in RMAC play as they travel to Alamosa, CO to take on the Adams State Grizzlies.
