New Mexico Highlands University track and field standout Angella Graham, earned two more All-American honors at the NCAA National Indoor championships in Albuquerque, NM, 3/12 and 3/13. Graham now has a total of five NCAA All-American awards to her credit, making her the most highly decorated Highlands athlete since NMHU joined the NCAA in 1991.

Graham placed third in the Triple Jump and seventh in the Pentathlon to take home her two All-American trophies. Her performance in the triple jump of 40’-10” is a new HU record and led the competition at the conclusion of her preliminary round. She was topped by Nigerian national triple jump champion Nkeiruka Domike of Nebraska-Omaha and Fort Hays’ Darcie Schmitz who snuck by Graham by less than 3-inches on her final jump.

Graham just missed her own record in the pentathlon, scoring 3674 versus her personal best of 3680 set at the RMAC championships two weeks earlier. The HU junior was actually tied for the lead in the competition at the conclusion of the shot put, the third of the five events. She fell to second after the long jump and gave a valiant effort in the final event, the 800 meters, before ending up seventh overall in the national competition.
