The NMHU Cowboy Basketball team has qualified for the Regional tournament to be played in Mankato, Minnesota this weekend. The Cowboys are one of four RMAC teams qualified for the tourney after finishing 20-10 overall this season. The Cowboys will be the sixth seeded team in the tournament.
The Regional tournament is the beginning of the NCAA Division II National Tournament. The winner of the Regional tournament will advance to the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen. This will be the first appearance for the Cowboys at the National tournament, in the school’s history.
The Cowboys will play the Augustana College Vikings in the first game of the tournament. Augustana finished their season with a 18-6 record earning them the number three seed in the tournament.
The Cowboys will take to the court 3/13 at 12:00 pm CST. This will be the first game of the tournament. If the Cowboys advance they will take on the winner of the Mesa State College and Winonna State University matchup up 3/14 @ 5:00 pm CST.
