Brown Named RMAC / Rawlings Player of the Week; Cowboys Continue to Climb in National Polls

The #7 NMHU Cowboy Baseball team has excelled in every aspect of the game this season. The Cowboys have climbed the national rankings throughout the season and have also gotten their fourth RMAC / Rawlings Player of the Week this season. Danny Brown has been named the Player of the Week for Week 12 of the RMAC Season.

Brown came through big time for the Cowboys in their weekend series against the Cougars of Colorado Christian University. Brown was instrumental in the Cowboys third straight RMAC series sweep and their fourth RMAC series sweep of the season. Brown finished the weekend with a .400 batting average, three homeruns, scored four runs and eight RBI’s. Brown (4-0) also worked his magic from the mound as he is earned his fourth win of the season. Brown allowed just two runs on seven hits in six innings pitched as well as recorded five strikeouts in the win.

The Cowboys have continued to climb in the national polls as they are now ranked 7th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper DII Top 30 poll, 7th in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association DII Top 25 poll and 12th in the PING! Baseball DII Top 30 poll. The Cowboys are also #1 in the NCAA Central Regional poll as well as #1 in the RMAC.
